About

Baidu Browser, also known as Baidu Spark Browser, was a web browser developed by the Chinese tech company Baidu. Based on the Chromium engine, it was designed primarily for Windows and Android users, offering features like built-in media downloading, mouse gesture controls, and a user interface resembling Google Chrome. It gained popularity in China due to its integration with Baidu’s ecosystem and localized services.

Despite its feature set, Baidu Browser faced criticism over security and privacy concerns, including allegations of data transmission to Baidu servers without user consent. By the late 2010s, Baidu gradually phased out the browser, shifting its focus to AI, cloud computing, and other internet services. While the browser is no longer actively maintained, its legacy remains as part of Baidu’s broader influence in China’s internet landscape.
