Internet Explorer (Mobile)

Internet Explorer Mobile was the mobile version of Microsoft’s Internet Explorer, designed for Windows Mobile devices. First introduced in the early 2000s, it was initially based on the desktop version of Internet Explorer, offering users basic web browsing features such as support for HTML, JavaScript, and CSS. As mobile technology evolved, IE Mobile went through several iterations, improving compatibility with modern websites and adding features like tabbed browsing, zooming, and better JavaScript performance.

Despite its early presence on Windows Mobile and later Windows Phone devices, IE Mobile struggled to gain significant traction against competitors like Safari on iOS and Android’s native browser. In 2015, Microsoft began transitioning to the Edge browser for mobile, eventually discontinuing support for IE Mobile as part of the shift to the Windows 10 Mobile platform. With the end of support for Windows Phone in 2020, IE Mobile was officially phased out.
