About

Opera Mobile is a mobile web browser developed by Opera Software, designed for smartphones and tablets. It was first released in 2006 and, like Opera Mini, aimed to offer a fast and efficient browsing experience on mobile devices. Opera Mobile was built to take advantage of modern mobile hardware, supporting more advanced features such as full web page rendering, JavaScript, and multimedia content, unlike Opera Mini, which relied on server-side compression for data savings.

Opera Mobile originally used the Presto rendering engine before switching to Blink in 2013, aligning with Chrome and other Chromium-based browsers. The browser supported features such as tabbed browsing, a password manager, and a built-in ad blocker. While it was a popular choice for users on Android and other mobile platforms, Opera Mobile eventually saw a decline in usage as competition from other mobile browsers, such as Google Chrome and Firefox, grew stronger. In 2014, Opera focused more on its mobile-optimized Opera Mini and its Android version, gradually phasing out Opera Mobile for most platforms.
